On January 22, the Diocese of Khandwa joyfully inaugurated its Golden Jubilee Year, marking fifty years of faith, service, and mission. The historic celebration began with a solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by His Excellency Bishop Augustine Madathikunnel, Bishop of Khandwa.
The inaugural Mass was a moment of deep thanksgiving, bringing together priests, religious, and a large gathering of the faithful from across the Diocese. Their presence reflected the unity and communion of the diocesan family as it embarked on this significant milestone in its journey.
During the celebration, Fr. Jimmy Vayalil briefly traced the journey of the Diocese of Khandwa since its establishment in 1977, highlighting how the Diocese has nurtured and given to the Church many bishops, archbishops, priests, and religious.
The Bishop also invited everyone to observe the Golden Jubilee Year as a time of gratitude, reconciliation, and renewed missionary zeal, encouraging all to walk together in faith and hope as the Diocese looks toward the future. The inaugural celebration set a prayerful and joyful tone for the year-long Golden Jubilee programs planned throughout the Diocese.
